The idea of lying on a sun lounger, basking in the heat or sitting on a comfy chair in a blossoming garden with a nice cool drink and immersing yourself in a good book is one many of us hold for the summer season… although unfortunately is something most of us don’t get to indulge as often as we’d like! Even if you know the idealistic view of enjoying a great read this summer won’t happen for you, reading is still a valuable time-out tool and an opportunity for learning and reflection. Here at Ponderlily, we always try to make time in our schedules for some reading; be it a romance novel or an autobiography. Our reading lists this year are set, and we share our favourite titles and stories right here. Add them to your To Be Read pile today!

Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham
Lauren Graham isn’t a psychologist, self-help expert or life coach: she’s the star of Gilmore Girls and despite her acting career, well, a normal, well-rounded woman. This book is a collection of personal essays reflecting on her life and experiences, considering the possible paths she could have taken as well as the lessons learnt along the way. This is not your typical health and wellness tome, nor is it a manageable set of tools and techniques, but rather a personal reflection on a life well lived that we can all learn from. We got the audio version of book from Audible.com and it was a hit - laughed out loud on the drive home!
