5 ways Low Impact Living Saves You Money

Creating a sustainable lifestyle is so important not only for the environment but also for your day to day! Every little bit you do can really help and have a positive impact. Living a low impact lifestyle is all about having less of an impact on your environment and your neighborhood. It is all about living a healthier life and making small adjustments to reduce your carbon footprint.

At Ponderlily, we truly value being an eco-friendly company. Our commitment to intentional living influences all we do—from sourcing eco-friendly materials to providing prompts that help deepen the personal insights we too often tune out.

Leaving a better legacy through a smaller footprint is one of our brand values because we care about people—near and far, living today and tomorrow—and we recognize the decisions we make have broad implications. By eliminating plastic, minimizing packaging and even hand-delivering products to local customers, we hope to make a big impression about the importance of sustainability through a small environmental impact on the world.

We choose to make sustainable choices whenever possible. We understand the impact our products and materials can make not only for our customers but also for our environment.

But having a green lifestyle doesn’t have to be unattainable or crazy expensive. There are easy and straightforward ways to do this! Check out our 5 easy ways you can incorporate low impact living into your lifestyle today.

Use reusable water bottle

This simple swap from plastic one-use bottles to reusable ones can make an enormous impact with just a simple decision. More than 60 million plastic water bottles are thrown away in the U.S. alone and you can replace up to 1,460 plastic bottles per year by using a reusable bottle

Line-dry clothes whenever possible

By line drying your clothes, you can conserve energy that would be used through your dryer at home. Plus if you are able to line dry them outside, you can have that fresh air smell in your fabric. If you live in more of a city space and are unable to dry your clothes outdoors, a hanging rack is the way to go.

Unplug appliances when you’re not using them

Similar to line-drying your clothes, conserve energy in your home and cut down on your power bill by unplugging appliances when you’re not using them. It’s a simple way to make a positive change for the better!

Try reusable grocery bags

Similar to plastic bottles, plastic bags are a huge source of trash and debris out there. It is estimated that the “U.S. is responsible for 327 billion bags that go into the seas.” Insane right? Grab a few reusable bags and keep them in your car or by the door for when you head to the grocery store. The bags can be used for so much more than just the grocery store, use them as a gym bag or keep up with dirty laundry when you take it to the laundromat.

Sharing is caring!

Buying second hand is a wonderful way to save some money and avoid purchasing fast fashion items that are not sustainable. You can purchase second hand for children’s toys, clothing and more! You can check out Facebook for Buy, Sell, Swap group for second-hand items or visit a local thrift store for options.

We aren’t asking you to completely stop living the lifestyle that you are accustomed to, but with small and simple changes you can make a difference. No need for drastic changes, just adopt a reduce, reuse, recycle mindset for your everyday!
